Stairs to the sky

Angels are pure energy; and magnificent spirits. They were created as perfect and free from human conditions. They are spirits of light that exist to praise God. They have been in the world even before human beings. Their main objective is to focus, intensify, and enlarge God’s energies for the benefit of all creations, bearing in mind mankind’s needs. They glorify feelings of faith, hope, charity, honor, integrity, truth, freedom, mercy, and justice.
They are divine helpers that make heavenly energy flow, in order to find a solution to the conflicts of the universe. They protect our spiritual energy; they warn us from danger; they are always willing to help us according to our needs; they go along with us to reassure our potentials at all levels. They enlarge life’s spirit and they renew everything they have contact with. They are a revelation of divine love, wisdom and absolute power.
They have the ability to acquire different shapes to appear to us when necessary.
The word Angel comes from Latin Angelus and Greek Angelos, which means Messenger of God.
A legend says that since the day we are born, an angel touches our lips with his fingers and says, “Remain silent, do not say what you already know”. That is the reason why we have a thin rift in the upper lip, and we do not remember anything from the place we come from.
They can pass by our lives, and we are not capable of recognizing them. There is no human being who has not ever been touched by an Angel. However, not all people are willing to admit this fact.

The Powers of the Moon Sign
The Powers of the Moon Sign
The Moon rules human beings’ emotions. Learning about your Moon Sign allows you to know your feelings’ characteristics.
Traditional Astrology explains that the Moon Sign represents the characteristics we inherit from our parents, though it is also true that many believe that the Moon Sign shows the way we face, instinctively, different situations. The Moon Sign is related to the day and month plus the year we were born. It is the Sign where the Moon was traveling through at the time of our birth. Besides, if we know the time of our birth, it will give us the position by ‘Astrological House’ (in what area of the chart is) and the aspects (angles) to other planets.

Sun, Moon and Rising Sign

This is an introductory article about the Sun, Moon and Ascendant and will give a brief look at the meaning associated with these parts of the birth chart.
Sun

The Sun Sign is what most people are aware of because it is easy to calculate so it is used most frequently by the general population.

The symbolism associated with this planet shows us how we consciously express ourselves - I liken the process of discovering our 'Sun' to the process of individuation as described by Carl Jung. Depending on the placement of the Sun and its relationship to the other planets this may be a process that is easy or difficult. The actual Sun itself I relate to the animus.
Men tend to associate with the Sun more naturally/easily than woman because it is a masculine energy and psychologically represents the father and authority figures as well as identity and ego. Other keywords associated with the Sun include vitality and purpose.
In a woman's chart the Sun can represent what type of characteristics she finds attractive in a partner or that she experiences through her father and other important men in her life.

Moon
The Moon changes sign roughly every 2 1/2 days, depending on how fast it is travelling at the time. In Jungian terms I feel there is a strong link between the Moon and the anima.
Unconscious actions can be attributed to the Moon as well as feelings and needs. Instinct, emotions, nurturing and the feminine qualities are also represented by this point in the birth chart. The Moon shows us how we instinctively respond on a feeling level when we are being creatures of habit.
While the Sun strives to be different, the Moon symbolises relationship and merging of identity.
Usually a woman will associate with her Moon sign because it is a feminine energy.
Men may experience the symbolism represented by the Moon through their relationship with the mother or nurturing figure while growing up. When it comes to relationships a man usually seeks out the themes represented by the Moon's placement within his birth chart.

Rising Sign (Also Known as the Ascendant)
Since the Rising Sign is calculated using the exact time of birth, ie, the moment a person entered the world, then this point in the birth chart symbolises the environment a person is born into. It can also describe the birthing process itself!

I use this point in the chart as an indication of not only what type of environment a person is born into, but also as a guide to how others first experience the individual.
Psychologically speaking, the Rising Sign indicates the type of persona (another term used by Jung) an individual has created for dealing with the world and others in general. In other words our Rising Sign is the 'mask' we wear when having to deal with new situations, people and the world in general.
Physically it can describe what a person looks like as well as the type of health issues an individual may face at some point in their lives.

Personal growth with the I Ching

What do people mean by 'personal growth' or 'self development'? They all indicate a focus on the individual, an ideal of becoming something more than we are, or perhaps becoming more fully what we already are. Personal growth means exploring your potential, creating your ideal self. All manner of self-help books will tell you that the first step to real achievement is deciding what you want to achieve: to set goals. There are many ways of going about this – such as imagining what you would like people to say about you – but it can be hard to break out from your present, limited horizons to see greater possibilities. What you need is a vision of this Self that you can work with, a new way of imagining yourself.

The I Ching brings that fresh perspective, and with it can come a sense of a calling. One of the most important questions you can ask it is ‘Please, show me something of who I truly am…’ It has countless vivid images to offer you. Perhaps you are a well of fresh water, perhaps a vessel of transformation, or a wanderer, or a radiant light… When I asked this question, I was told that I am a watcher, channel and learner.

Discovering your talents and potential is only the beginning. Perhaps your talent is for leadership, or for supporting, or for challenging – but how can it come to expression, what is it for? For me, this question came to the fore when I had earned my degrees and become dissatisfied with the idea of a career in academia. But if not for that, what was my intelligence for? Perhaps for other forms of teaching, maybe through writing? When I asked the I Ching about this, it began by telling me that my brains were for Not Knowing! Intelligence was a way of being young and ignorant, and of growing. For me, after years of building up knowledge and skills, this was a dramatic change of perspective.

Divination is often thought of as a way of discovering the future – as if this were written in stone and not something you create yourself. The I Ching simply does not work like that. Even when people ask it ‘what will happen?’ it will reply with an explanation of the choices available and where they lead. Especially for this kind of questioner, discovering the I Ching can be profoundly empowering. Its answers speak directly to your situation, enabling you to take your own decisions. Consulting the I Ching is a radically new way of exploring the different paths open to you. (It is also some 3,000 years old.)

Working with the I Ching can give you a new understanding of ‘personal growth’. The metaphors and structures it offers you not only bring about greater self-knowledge; they stretch your understanding and constantly challenge your perceptions. What begins with goal setting, a tighter focus, can become an expansion of possibilities: as you are pushed to your limits, you find that the limits recede. The oracle’s rich webs of imagery offer you new ways to imagine yourself.

However, the I Ching is not merely a stimulus to imagination. It lets you work with your goals and ideals, it frees your imagination – but it can also bring you firmly down to earth. This is very much an oracle of the real world. It is not merely a ‘tool’ you can control: its answers are challenging, and not always what the questioner wants to hear. Personal aspirations and imaginings are always placed in a wider context: the very act of divination opens up the boundaries of the self.

The I Ching has its own voice – sometimes compassionate, sometimes sharp, often funny. In my own experience, I have found that it offers gentle reassurance to the insecure, but is distinctly firm (and occasionally scathing) when people try to evade their responsibility for their own life.
